Here are some of our first impressions of Curaçao. The island is very nice and the anchor bay “Spanish Water” is almost like a small village with many sailors from all over the world. The boats are very sheltered here. Still there are most of the time some wind and waves. In in the surrounding area is “Jan Thiel” a rather touristic area, but it is convenient and there are also some nice bars and restaurants.

Underwater world of Curaçao

Near Spanish Water (and many other places on the island) there are good spots for snorkeling and diving. There is a wreck to discover and many great beaches! We can’t get enough of it!

Willemstad

Willemstad is the capital of Curaçao. It is about 20 minutes by bus from Spanish Water. The colourful old town has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. Today Willemstad has about 125.000 inhabitants and is not only by far the biggest city of the island, but also the biggest city of the Dutch areas in the Caribbean.

Dushi what does that mean?

Dushi is Papiamento and one of the most important words on Curaçao. It means not only so much as beautiful, great, babe, delicious, nice or sweet, but also everything else and much more. In short: It’s duuushi!
